Cessna 150 Propeller Installation Instructions

If you check the post a few down on vibration you will see I am having a struggle with a vibration problem. I have done everything you great shortwingers have suggested, still cannot isolate the vibration.

The vibration becomes noticeable at 2300 RPM and becomes more pronounced as we increase the RPM. My mechanic says the prop on a Cessna 150 must be mounted in a specific spot relating to the piston position of the #1 cylinder (I think that's what he said). We are wondering if there is a similar instruction regarding the prop on the PA22-160. We are going to do a compression check Saturday. All suggestions are appreciated.

Again, thanks.Jim. Try mounting the prop where the prop is sligned so that it is inlinewith the cylinders at TDC.If this is not better then reversing the prop alignment. Any out of balance in tha prop will be in (or out) of phase with tha most likely imbalance of the rotating parts.Another possibility is the dynamic balancing of the assembly. If the static balance is OK the prop should be fairly good.

Dynamic balancing can do a pretty good job, but could possibly mask other problems. I used to use a dual channel balancer so that I could tell if the imbalance was in the engine where the rear balance got owrse as the front comes in. Can't do anything about that with the engine together.

Jim,Just a thought. When I owned my first Tripe back in the '70's, It had a similar vibration problem when I first bought it.

Descargar driver easy full serial crack gratis windows 7. Came on at a low RPM and got worse as I added power. This was on an O290 135.My A&P set the prop blade to be in line with the front tire and measured the clearance. He then propped the engine 180 degrees so that the opposite prop blade was in the same place, measured it again and found that there was a small warp in the prop flange, since one clearance was greater than the other. He made a paper gasket to go under the short clearance side of the prop, bringing it back into proper alignment, and the problem was solved. It never vibrated again. It's free and easy to make the measurement yourself, and it might help you pinpoint your problem.Good luck,Chuck.

Problem Solved!! Thank you for all the expert advice. After going through with all your suggestions, we did a compression check. Sure enough, the #4 cyl. Was only 62/80. The exhaust valve was leaking. The mechanic gave the rocker arm a few well placed raps with a mallet and viola!

Apparently it had some carbon under the valve. I want to share the lesson I learned. That is this. The EGT for #4 has been running hotter than it used to, all winter. It was trying to tell me something all along and duh! I didn't get the message.

Next time that sucker hiccups, I'm paying attention. Thanks again for all the help.Jim.
